Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate misignition and have a secure restitution to the working condition of an engine equipped with a cylinder resting means by furnishing a control means which ensures that the cylinder resting condition and working condition are repeated alternately under specific running conditions. CONSTITUTION:A resting cylinder judgement circuit 22 receives the running informational signal S1 and gives out a cylinder resting signal A. A cylinder cycle sensing circuit 23, on the other hand, receives the ignition pulse train signal S2 and gives out a signal B from a waveform shaper circuit 29, and receives a pulse of the cylinder discrimination signal S3 emitted for every two turns and gives out a signal C from another waveform shaper circuit 30. These signals B, C are sent through a flip-flop circuit and, together with the signal A and an alternate cycle signal for two-cycle synchronization, are placed into valve control circuits 25 for every cylinder to permit each cylinder 1-4 to repeat alternation between the resting and working conditions for one cycle each woth the aid of a solenoid 16a, so that there is no risk of moistening the ignition plugs.
