Abstract

This suppository is controlled by nonportal system to circulate the whole body without passing through liver, therefore, tetragastrin is continuously absorbed to exert durable effect. Thus, it is given for curing hypoacidity or anacidity accompanied by gastric cancer or is used as a digestion accelerator or given along with a carcinostatic agent to help the carcinostatic agent to reach the affected part, further to reduce the side effects. It is prepared, e.g., into a cylindrical suppository by melting the base material with heat, kneading it with a surface active agent and a powder or aqueous suspension of tetragastrin, then casting the mixture into a mold of aluminum cylinder.
