Abstract

PURPOSE:To release only clean air into the atmosphere, by passing air mixed with oil mist, through lubricating oil in an oil sump so that the oil mist clings to the lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:The front ends 80A, 90A, 100A of oil pipes 80, 90, 100 secured in lubricating oil return ports 8, 9, 10 are located near the bottom of an oil sump 2. As gas mixed with oil mist and flowing into the oil sump 2 from the return ports 8-10 through the pipes 80, 90, 100 goes out into space 52 through oil 51 staying in the sump 2, the oil mist clings to the oil. The gas is thus removed of the oil mist. As the gas removed of the oil mist through the oil 51 flows to an air breather 44 through the space 52, the gas again gets to contain a small quantity of oil mist. This oil mist is filtered off by a wire net 44B when the gas passes through the air breather 44.
