Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the bonding time in the manufacturing of an illuminator and improve its productivity, and to manufacture an illuminator having excellent airtightness at high temperauture and thermal shock resistance, by bonding a reflecting member containing a light source to a lens part with a curable polyester-type hot-melt resin composition.
CONSTITUTION: For example, an illuminator composed of a reflecting member 2 having a bulb hole 4 for holding a light source such as an electric bulb and a lens part 1 can be manufactured by applying a curable polyester-type hot-melt resin composition 3 to the joining part of the reflecting member 2 and the lens part 1, uniting the reflecting member and the lens part, and heating at 120W 250°C for 1W60min. The above resin composition is pref. the one composed mainly of a self-curing unsaturated polyester-type hotl-melt resin having air-drying functional group selected from unsaturated aliphatic groups and (un)saturated alicyclic groups pref. in an amount of ≥0.01 equivalent per 100g of the polyester, and having a melt viscosity of 10W4,000 poise at a temp. higher than the softening point of uncured resin by 20°C.
