Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare sphericl amorphous aluminosilicate having relatively large particle diameter and suitable as an adsorbent, etc., continuously, by feeding an aqueous solution of an alkali aluminate and an aqueous solution of an alkali silicate continuosly to a reaction system, and reacting under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of an alkali aluminate 1 in concentration of about 2W25wt% (as Al2O3) and an aqueous solution of an alkali silicate in concentration of about 2W35wt% (as SiO2) are fed continuously to the reactor 3 at a ratio of 1W5 reduced to the molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3, and made to react with each other at ≤60°C and a residence time of 3minW6hr. The spherical amorphous aluminosilicate is produced by the reaction, and the particle diameter increases with the progress of the reaction. The reaction slurry containing the spherical amorphous aluminosilicate having large particle diameter and precipitated to the bottom of the reactor 3 is supplied to the centrifugal separator 5. The separated particles are dried in the drier 6 to obtain the titled aluminosilicate wherein ≥80wt% of the spherical particles have particle diameter of ≥25μ.
