Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled exchange membrane capable of keeping excellent electrolytic capability stably for a long period, by forming a film of a blend of specific three components such as sulfur-containing fluorinated vinyl ether compound having specific structure, etc., and converting the functional group of the film to an ion exchange group.
CONSTITUTION: A copolymer of a fluorinated olefin of formulaI(L is F, CF3, etc.), a sulfur-containing fluorinated vinyl ether compound of formula II (k is 0 or 1; Y is 1W10C alkyl, Cl, etc. when Z is S, and Y is a group defined above, OM or 1W10C perfluoroalkyl when Z is SO2; M is H, metal, etc.) is blended with a copolymer of the compound of formulaIand a carboxyl ester group-containing fluorinated vinyl ether compound of formula III (m is 0W1; n is 1W4; R is 1W5C alkyl), and formed to a film. The functional groups of the film are converted to ion exchange groups to obtain the titled exchange membrane consisting of a mixture of (A) a polymer composed of the recurring units of formula IV and formula V wherein the ratio of IV/V is 1.5W14 and (B) a polymer composed of the recurring units of formula IV and formula VI wherein IV/VI is 1.5W14. The content of the polymer (A) in the mixture is 10W90wt%.
