Abstract
PURPOSE:To copy the movement of a torch accurately to a welded joint by the arc per se and control welding conditions by changing the oscillation directions of the torch when the position or displacement of the torch in its axial line direction attains a prescribed value with respect to a reference value. CONSTITUTION:The difference between the detection signal of an arc voltage detector 10 and the arc voltage of a reference setter 11 is obtained with a differential amplifier 12, and the upward and downward movements of a torch 3 are controlled by a motor 8 via a motor controller 13, so that the arc point is moved by copying the groove shape. The extents of the upward and downward movements of the torch 3 are inputtd as output values 24 of the voltage signal to a comparator 21. The movement of the torch 3 in the weld line direction is fed as a voltage signal 22 changing with time to a differential amplifier 20 by a detector 18 for base metal display surface position. The inversion position is operated by the reference value signal of the setter 19 and is inputted to the comparator 21. The oscillation direction inversion signal 23 of the comparator 21 is fed to the controller 16 which changes the turning direction of a motor 15, thereby inverting the oscillating direction of the torch 3.
