Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove a phosphorus component in water in good efficiency by adding a soil particle like natural mineral based on aluminum oxide or aluminum hydroxide of a pumice weathered mineral system to a phosphorous containing aqueous solution as a catalyst to treat said aqueous solution.
CONSTITUTION: A phosphorous containing aqueous solution such as sewage, rivers, ditch flow water or the like is passed through a reaction tower or a pool packed with a soil particle like natural mineral based on aluminum oxide or aluminum hydroxide of a pumice weathered mineral system to carry out dephosphorization treatment. For example, a pumica weathered mineral particle with a particle size of 0.5W20mm is packed in a reaction tower with a diameter 20cm and a length of 1m and, by passing urban sewage treating water therethrough, 100% contained phosphorous can be removed. Because a large amount of phosphorous is contained in the catalytic mineral used for a long period of time, it can be provided to agricultural use as a phosphorous fertilizer.
