Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve resolution and to minimize recording time, by combining tone by dot number and overlapped part, in a half tone forming method by dot matrix. CONSTITUTION:The data relating to logarithmic compression by a pattern generator 21 is stored, and multi-tone is achieved, by combining the tone by the arrangement of dots not overlapped and the tone generated from the overlapped part through overlapped dots. Thus, since multi-tone can be reproduced with less dot number, the resolution can be increased and the reading record speed can be increased.
