Electric signals, which produced by the photoelectric converters 4a0..., 4b0... when the sheet S is present, are received by a comparison and judgment circuit 5 to judge whether the sheet has deviated rightward or leftward. A control circuit 6 or 7 is caused to generate an output to eliminate the compressive force of the right or left roller 1b or 1a to correct the deviation.
