Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a recording liquid having excellent discharge stability, discharge response and continuous recordability, by incorporating a specified compd. into a recording liquid contg. a recording agent and a liquid medium.
CONSTITUTION: 5W90wt% compd. of formulaIor II (wherein R1 is a 1W4C alkyl; R2, R3 are each H, methyl; n1W3 are each 1W30) is added to a recording liquid consisting of 0.5W50wt% recording agent such as an anthraquinone or indigoid dye having a particle size of 0.01W3μ and a liquid medium such as water, methyl alcohol or ethylene glycol.
EFFECT: This compd. enhances the solubility of the recording agent in the liquid medium and the concn. of the recording agent in the recording liquid. A solid matter is scarcely deposited from the resulting recording liquid during storage or suspension of recording. There can be obtd. clear high-quality printed image with high contrast.
