Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably maintain laminar flows and to demonstrate cooling capacities of a wide range in a cooling system for rolled steel sheets which inject laminar flows against rolled steel sheets, by changing the laminar header to a movable type. CONSTITUTION:Rails 10 are installed on a pair of a left and a right bases 16, and two lines of spouts 17 parallel to the steel sheet transferring direction are installed at a right angle with the transferring direction above a space between both the rails 10. The spouts can be moved freely by means of trank rollers 11. Laminar headers 5 provided with numerous single type nozzles 6 are installed above each spout 17 in the direction of width. Each laminar header 5 is connected with a stationary type main header 18 with a flexible hose 19, and a longitudinal pantagraph type driving mechanism 15 is installed above each laminar header 5. One end of the mechanism 15 is connected to a cylinder 13. The nozzles 6 work in response to a cylinder for drainage 21 and water is drained through the spouts 17 and a drain trough 20.
