Abstract
PURPOSE:To copy on transfer paper of various sizes even if the circumferential length of a holding drum is shorter than the maximum original length, by rotating the holding drum twice when the size of the transfer paper is longer than the circumferential length of the original holding drum. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential length of an original holding drum 105 is set to a length between an A4 original and an A3 original, and original size detecting sensors 111A, 111B are provided and connected to a prescribed CPU. In this constitution, transfer paper of A3 has been used for an original of A4, a procedure of A3 of the CPU is selected by mounting a cassette of transfer paper of A3. Also, within a prescribed time when the original has been pinched by the drum 105, whether the rear end of the original is present or not is confirmed by an output from the sensors 111A, B, whether the original is A4 or A3 is decided, and in accordance with said information, a copying work is performed. In this case, the drum 105 is rotated twice. In this way, even if the circumferential length of the drum 105 is shorter than A3, copying is executed onto transfer paper of various sizes.
