Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a hydrogen feeding system working at all times at a low temp. to a high temp. by separately putting several kinds of metallic hydrides having different equilibrium pressure-temp. characteristics in containers for generating hydrogen and by connecting the containers to each other through on-off valves.
CONSTITUTION: For example, metallic hydrides M1, M2, M3 showing equilibrium pressure Pmin at temps. t1, t2, t3 and equilibrium pressure Pmax at temps. t2, t4, t6, respectively are put in separate containers R1, R2, R3. At this time, t1<t3≤ t2<t5≤t4<t6, and each of the containers is provided with a heating means and temp. and pressure measuring means. The containers R1, R2, R3 and a hydrogen consuming section Hcon are connected through on-off valves V1WV5. In the resulting hydrogen feeding system, the valve V1 is first opened at a temp. of t1W t2 to feed hydrogen to Hcon, R2 is heated with heat generated from Hcon, and at a temp. of t3Wt4 of hydrogen is fed to Hcon through the valve V2. The following operation is carried out similarly. On the other hand, when hydrogen is generated from R3 in excess, an excess of hydrogen is fed to R1 and R2 through the valves V4, V5 and occluded.
