Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the printing speed by having the black characters alone printed in the outgoing path of a head while the red characters alone print mixed in one line.
CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor 2 reads out the character code for the first character from a black character buffer 25 to be supplied to a character generator 9 while triggering a head drive pulse generator 7 to drive a head solenoids 14-1W14-n thereby performing a print out. Microprocessor 2 reads out characters in succession from a black character buffer 25 to perform a print out equivalent to one line. When a carriage reaches the right end, the processor 2 sets 0 at a ribbon selector flip flop 8 to switch the color of the ribbon over to red. Then, a speed data 21 is to move a carriage servo circuit 10 to the left. A character is read out from a red character buffer 26 to print out. Meanwhile, as there is no selection of the ribbon, the carriage moves at a high speed without stopping.
