Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain copies which have the same up and down direction without reference to whether an original is scanned in the forward or backward direction, by transferring an original image obtained by a forward scan from a photoreceptor to copying paper, and by transferring a photosensitive image obtained by a backward scan to an intermediate carrier and then to the copying paper after transfer.
CONSTITUTION: An original 2 moved as shown by an arrow 3' is irradiated with light from a lamp 5 and reflected light at the position of an irradiation center ST is passed through an imaging optical system 7 and reflected by mirrors 11' and 12 to form an image on a photosensitive surface 10 of a process cylinder 8. The image is transferred to copying paper, fed out of a storage cassette 14 along a paper feed path 15, through a developing device 13 and a transfer corona discharger 16, and the paper is ejected to a copy tray 18. When the original 2 is moved as shown by an arrow 3", the reflected light is reflected by a rotated mirror 11" to form an image on the photoreceptor 10. A developed image is transferred to an intermediate image cylinder 19 and copied on copy paper, fed to a paper feed path 21 through a transfer corona discharger 22 and a fixing device 22, and the paper is inverted by a roller 25' to be sent to the tray through the path 25. Thus, both the copies has the same direction.
