Abstract

PURPOSE:To receive and store the low temperature LPG at some 10 deg.C below zero as the normal LPG by using a system which watertightly stores the LPG in the underground cavity of an underground base rock and the properties of LPG without employing special equipment that adjusts the pressure variation in the underground cavity. CONSTITUTION:An arrival of goods duct 3 directly connects a carrier container 2 at some 10 deg.C below zero and an underground cavity 1. A heat exchanger 4 is inserted in the arrival of goods duct 3. The low temperature LPG is heated up to the normal temperature by the heat exchanger 4 and sent to the underground caviry 1. In this case, for example, since the low temperature LPG with the pressure of about 1kg/cm<2>abs at -43 deg.C increases the pressure, it is forcibly pressurized-sent into the underground cavity by means of a booster pump 15. As a result, an LPG underground storage system can economically be manufactured without employing special equipment that adjusts the pressure variation in the underground cavity 1.
