Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A valve lifter 3 is pressed downward through a master shim 7 placed on the valve shifter 3 by a push rod 16 with a cam bearing inner face 5 as the standard, and moving quantity of the push rod is detected when moving quantity of a valve 1 reaches a specified amount, then thikness of a shim is selected on the basis of a detection result of the push rod.
