Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover an oil with a low Cl content and hydrochloric acid containing little impurities easily and with a simple device, by a method wherein a gas formed by pyrolysis of PVC is brought into bubbling in hydrochloric acid, and after recovering oily components, the gas is cooled with hydrochloric acid to recover the oily components and hydrogen chloride.
CONSTITUTION: The gas formed by the pyrolysis of PVC in a pyrolyzing furnace 1 is introduced into a bubbling-type cooling tower 4, in which it is cooled by bubbling in hydrochloric acid at 95W105°C. The hydrochloric acid is fed into a separating tank 9 for heavy oil and hydrochloric acid, and oil components are recovered by washing with warm in a washing tank 12. The hydrochloric acid thus separated is fed into a phthalic acid separating tank 16 to crystallize phthalic acid by cooling, and the hydrochloric acid is circulated into the cooling tower 4. A gas discharged from the tower 4 is washed with hydrochoric acid in a recovering tower 20 to recover oil components and HCl contained in the gas, then the oil components and HCl are separated from each other by a separating tank 23 for light oil and hydrochloric acid, and the hydrochloric acid is circulated into the recovering tower 20 after cooling it by a cooler 24. A gas discharged from the tower 20 is stored in a gas holder 39 after passing through a washing tower and a conditioning tower 37 for eliminating harmful components, and is used as a fuel for the furnace 1. A portion of hydrochloric acid is fed into an air stripping tower 26 to remove low-boiling organic substances and then it is fed into a hydrochloric acid reservoir.
