Abstract

PURPOSE:To install a new terminal at low cost by providing a packet branching and inserting device which is equipped with terminals, selects packets from the terminals, and transmits the packets from the terminals to one circuit. CONSTITUTION:Packets sent from terminals 21-2n are received and detected by corresponding packet storage parts 31-3n and stored in the order of reception. A control part 4 monitors the number of the packets stored in the packet storage parts 31-3n to discriminate according to predetermined priority, etc., which packet storage part a packet is outputted from, and sends an indication to the packet storage parts 31-3n and a selection part 5. One specified packet storage part outputs the packets in the order of reception from an up circuit 7 to a packet switching network through the selection part 5. The packets arriving from the packet switching network via a down circuit 8 are branched at the selection part 5 to be sent to the terminals 21-2n simultaneously.
