Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the motion of a piston rod such that the braking function is applied between two sheets of piston boards even when the load is applied in the direction of pushing the piston rod under the state where the piston rod is stopped at desired position.
CONSTITUTION: When a piston rod 5 is pushed out to desired position and the load is applied in the push-in direction, the gap between the piston boards 2 and 3 is decreased to press the brake shoe 14 against the piston board 3 thus to roll a rolling rod 12 and the piston rod 5 is held at predetermined position by pressing the braking section 4 of the brake shoe 14 against the inner wall of the cylinder, while when supplying the fluid from a supply/exhaust port 18 the pressure is applied against the piston board 2 through the air hole made in the piston board 3 to move the piston board 2 backward untill the bolt head 9 will choke the through-hole 7 thus to release the pressure contact of the brake shoe 14 against the inner wall of the cylinder 1 and to provide the normal motion.
