  • Consolidation Of Soil By Introduction Of Solidifying Substances Into Soil (AREA)

Abstract

PURPOSE: To sufficiently stirr and mix excavated soil and sand and a grout in a stratum 7 by a method in which an excavating stirrer provided with a screw with notches is turned normally or reversely and a grout is injected through the lower opening of the excavating stirrer.
CONSTITUTION: An excavating stirrer 14 is brought down to the surface of soft ground while being turned normally or reversely by an oil-pressure motor, and at the same time a grout(e.g., cement, gypsum, etc.) is introduced from a mixer into the hollow rotary shaft 15 of the stirrer 14 by means of a pressure pump and then injected into the stratum through the lower opening of the rotary shaft 15. The stirrer 14 is penetrated into the stratum by the weight of the stirrer 14 and the rotation of the screw 16 and the excavated soil and sand and the grout in the stratum are stirred and mixed together by means of the alternate normal and reverse turning movements of the screw 16 with notches. In this case, if the stirrer 14 is moved vertically and reciprocally by a winch, more sufficient mixing can be obtained. Afterwards, the stirrer 14 is drawn out of the ground and the grout is cured to obtain a consolidated stratum.
