Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the size of the rod shaped body accurately by providing two movable frame, with two axes, which cross at a right angle to each other and also cross with an acting line of the center of gravity, as centers, providing a measuring device in the inner frame, thereby always holding the measuring device at a horizontal state. CONSTITUTION:The first frame 6 is provided so that it can be freely moved with the X-X axis which crosses with the acting line of the center of gravity as a center by a hanging tool 8 of a trestle 4 and ball bearings 11. The second frame 12 having the same constitution as the frame 6 is provided so that it can be freely moved with the Y-Y axis which crosses the X-X axis at a right angle as a center. The measuring device 14 is attached to said frame 12. Therefore the frame 12 is held at a horizontal state even though the trestle 4 is inclined in any direction. In this constitution, the rod shaped body 1 is hung by a crane and inserted into an opening part 13 through guide rollers 16. Then a head part 15 is contacted with the rod shaped body 1, and the size in the direction of the diameter is measured by the mesuring device 14. thus, the measuring device 14 is always held horizontally, and the size in the direction of the diameter can be accurately measured.
