Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a tape run stably, by delaying the release of a tensile force control mechanism until immediately after transferring when a regular reproducing state is transferred to a high speed running reproducing state. CONSTITUTION:When a cam disk 36 connected to a loading motor is rotated, a main lever 46 is moved to the right when loading has been completed, and a tension lever 8 is turned round a supporting point 9 by a spring 10. In case when a regular reproducing state is switched to a high speed quick forwarding reproducing state, a reverse rotation operating signal is applied to the loading motor by delaying the time a little (about 0.5sec) after a tape has attained a high speed running state. That is to say, a rotation of the cam disk 36 is controlled so that the main lever 46 is moved to a position where a tension post 11 is separated from contact with the tape. Also, in this case, a soft brake which is used exclusively for quick winding is used and operated simultaneously, as well.
