Abstract

PURPOSE: To cool and exhaust gas after it has passed through a catalyst by a method wherein a gas suction means is provided behind an oxide catalyst and its heating means and a secondary air intake is installed between the gas suction means and a cylinder part.
CONSTITUTION: Purified gas taken in from a duct hose 7 is heated by a heater 5 in the cylinder part 2 up to near 300°C and oxided and purified when it passes through the catalyst 4. When a flow of about 300l/min is given to the purified gas absorbed through a duct hose 7 and the quantity of air taken in through the secondary air intake 10 is made four times as much as the purified gas, the hot gas which has passed through the catalyst is mixed with the secondary air and falls down to about 50W60°C. The gas purified and cooled in this way is exhausted by a gas suction means from the end of a passage 8 to the outside of the apparatus and the external part near the exhaust part of the apparatus is not heated to a high temperature.
