Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mounting workability by temporarily mounting the connecting end of a roof bow in nonfixed relation to a side roof rail. CONSTITUTION:A roof bow 39 is mounted between both side roof rails 4a of a car body 1. Adhesives 16 are not yet hardened and the roof bow 39 is under the temporarily mounted condition such that relative displacement between the roof bow 39 and the rails 4a are prevented by engagement of a claw 13 with a hole 14. Next, a roof 2a is fixedly welded to the roof rails 4a. Then, the whole roof bow 3a is depressed through a spacer 15 by the roof 2a so that the temporarily mounted condition of deflected end is corrected while clearance l is ensured. Under such condition the car body is transferred to a painting process and adhesives 16, 11a are hardened by heat in a heating furnace to fix the roof bow 3a.
