Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the effecitve ending operation by an operator, by sensing the change in quantity of reflected light per unit time due to the passage of yarns by the yarn breakage at a specific position. CONSTITUTION:The inner surface of a pneumatic duct 2 or connecting pipe 6 of a flute 5 connected to the suction side of a pneumatic tank 1 is colored black to absorb light, and light is irradiated in the cross-sectional direction of the duct 2 by a light source 3 through a slit (S) to form a film (curtain) of light in the duct 2. A photoelectric cell 4 is provided to sense the reflected light by yarn passing the (curtain) film of light in the forward direction of air in the duct 2. If a yarn breakage occurs, a fleece crosses the film (curtain) of light and deposited on the pneumatic tank 1, and the change in quantity of reflected light per unit set time from the yarn surfaces in the yarn passage through the film (curtain) of light is sensed. When the sensed voltage is reached at the comparative voltage, a relay is operated to notify the yarn breakage by a lamp or buzzer.
