Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the difference of rigidity of a sheet and improve performance of a paper feed in a sheet feeder of copying machine or the like, by arranging the feeder in such constitution that rotary speed of its feed roller can be suitably selected in accordance with assignment of a kind of the sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet kind assigning button of a copying machine main unit, not shown in the drawing, for instance, normal paper assigning button is pressed, then a solenoid clutch 15b is selected to slowly rotate an output gear 6 through gears 16, 16b. While a sheet assigning button of less rigid paper like the second stencil paper is pressed, a solenoid clutch 15a is selected to rotate the output gear 6 at faster speed through gears 16, 16c. In this way, rotary speed of the gear, being automatically changed in accordance with rigidity of a sheet, causes feed speed of the sheet to meet its rigidity, thus a stable paper feed can be performed.
