Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a differential indexing device where the minimum indexing angle can be made small, by providing two gears having different number of teeth in an intermediate rotary member while using said engaging gears differentially. CONSTITUTION:A rotary ring 24 is rotated reversely through a gear 26 and to lower a sliding tube 21 through the screw functions 23, 25. Due to the lowering of the sliding tube, an intermediate rotary member 3 will lower along the tubular section 1c of a base 3 thus to disengage the first and second gears 4, 5. An indexing table 2 and the intermediate rotary member 3 are rotated by predetermined amount through the gears 18, 29 in accordance to the indexing angle. Then the rotary ring 24 is rotated forwardly through the gear 26 thus to engage the first and second gears 4, 5 at the new position. Consequently the indexing of minute angle is enabled without increasing the number of teeth considerably.
