Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled vaccine capable of keeping stable titer for a long period, by adding a sugar alcohol and a sugar to a live measles vaccine.
CONSTITUTION: Live measles vaccine containing a sugar alcohol and a sugar (e.g. D-sorbitol and lactose) and if necessary, human serum albumin, dextran, and gelatin. The live measles vaccine is a vaccine composed mainly of attenuated live measles viruses, and is ususlly frozen or freeze-dried for the purpose of storage. The titer (infection titer) of the vaccine tends to decrease during the preparation and storage; however, the addition of the above additives to the stock solution of the live measles vaccine remarkably stabilizes the frozen or freeze-dried product to ensure the long-term storage.
