Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the amount of vaporing water of timber to be dried accurately by collecting in a metering container a condensated obtained by condensing vapor generated by decompressing and heating a pressure container containing timber to be dried, and by counting a frequency of discharge by discharging the condensate each time its amount reaches a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Undried timber 1 is mounted on a moving car truck 2 and installed in a pressure container 3, and a vacuum pump 5 is operated to perform decompression to a certain degree of vacuum; and a high-frequency oscillator 9 is put in operation to start the high-frequency dielectric heating of the timber 1. Consequently, moisture moves from the internal layer part to the external layer part of the timber 1 to vapor from the surface. The vapor is condensed by a condenser 4 into a condensate, which is collected in a metering container 6. As the condensate reaches the level of an upper-limit water level detector 22, an automatic valve 13 is closed and automatic valves 19 and 20 are opened to discharge the condensate into the air. After the discharging, a lower-limit water level detector 23 operates to close the automatic valves 19 and 20 and also to open the automatic valve 13, so that the condensate from the timber flows into the metering container 6 again. The frequency of discharge is counted to read the residual quantity of water by a water level gauge 21, thus measuring the residual quantity of water.
