Abstract

PURPOSE: A pour point reducing agent, consisting of a specific ethylene-α-olefinic copolymer, capable of reducing the pour point of a low-viscosity mineral insulting oil sharply, and having improved electrical characteristics without causing the difficult heat dissipation even on using in the winter and cold districts.
CONSTITUTION: A pour reducing agent for a mineral insulating oil, consisting of an amorphous ethylene-3W18C α-olefinic copolymer having a molecular weight of 5,000W500,000, with a 3W18C α-olefin, preferably propylene, content of 25W75wt%, preferably 40W60wt%, and having a viscosity ≤20cst at 40°C. The copolymer further contained in the insulating oil in an amount of 0.005W1wt% provides the mineral insulating oil composition having improved pour point reducing property.
EFFECT: Deep hue of the product without degrading the commodity value.
USE: Useful as an electrical insulating oil in an oil condenser, oil-filled cable, oil- immersed transformer, etc.
