Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to efficiently make a waste gas or the like from a household combustion device smokless and to deodorize the same by holding a catalyst on a carrier molded by using a hydraulic cement and combustion ash of a solid fuel.
CONSTITUTION: In a hydraulic cement based on calcium aluminate such as an alumina cement or the like or calcium silicate such as Portland cement or the like, combustion ash of a solid fuel is compounded in an appropriate amount and the resultant compound is molded to form a catalyst carrier. During this molding time, a predetermined amount of a metal oxide catalyst is compounded to obtain a cata lyst body. Further, on a surface of the carrier or the catalyst body to which the metal oxide is compounded, a platinum group metal is supported in an amount of about 0.001W0.1wt% and, thereby, a light wt. catalyst body with excellent purifying capacity of a waste gas or the like is inexpensively obtained. By utilizing said catalyst body, a combustion device for household use can be used safely and pleasantly.
