Abstract

PURPOSE:To offer customers careful service by discriminating whether an bought article can be exchanged or not through comparing information of a memory storing the registered data, with inputted information, and by pringing a symbol indicating an exchangeable article, on a receipt when the article can be exchanged. CONSTITUTION:A memory 36 storing the registered data consists of an area (a) storing the departmentalizing unit prices, the numbers of sold articles, and total sale amount of money, an area (b) stored with the gross total sale amount of money, an area (c) stored with the department number of an article which can be returned or exchanged, etc. A discriminating circuit 41, on the other hand, compares the department number stored in the area (c) of the memory 36 with department information inputted from a function information input circuit 23 to discriminate whether an article whose registration is completed can be returned or exchanged. On the basis of the output of the circuit 41, an AND gate 42 is opened or closed. Consequently, the data of a symbol code storage circuit 43 stored with a symbol code indicating the exchangeable article is inputted to a printer 39 through the gate 42 and an OR gate 44.
