Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled blowing agent consisting of methylene chloride and an aliph. hydrocarbon, which has similar foaming performance to that of fluorinated hydrocarbon blowing agents and can give a polyurethane foam without scorching and cracking.
CONSTITUTION: 0.005W3pts.wt. sliph. hydrocarbon such as 2-pentene or n-pentane and, if necessary, 0.005W3pts.wt. propylene oxide are blended with 100pts.wt. methylene chloride to produce the titled blowing agent. A polyhydric alcohol is reacted with a polyisocyanate in the presence of the above blowing agent and a catalyst to produce a polyurethane foam.
EFFECT: Ozonosphere disturbance which is a problem caused by the use of fluorinated hydrocarbons does not occur.
