Abstract
PURPOSE:To report or record the fact of a power failure when a difference from current-time data exceeds a constant value, by a clocking part which performs clocking operation without reference to the state of a commercial power source and a storage part stored with the time data. CONSTITUTION:A clocking part 11 is composed of a timer 11-1 driven a normally charged battery 11-2 and reads the current time at intervals of, for example, one second by the instruction of a CPU10 to store the time data in a memory 13. A receiver which uses a commercial power source, on the other hand, discriminates a CM broadcast by a discrimination signal at the beginning of, for example, a CM confirmation signal received by an antenna 15 and a reception part 16, and detects and sends a next discrimination signal to the CPU10. During this reception processing, the CPU10 reads the current time and compares it with the memory contents of the memory 13 to find their difference DELTAt; when the difference DELTAt is less than a constant value, the time is judged to a normal to update the current time in the memory 13 and when greater than the constant value, a power failure is considered to have occurred, thereby reporting or recording information on the power failure.
