Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure an assured input of offset amount with no mistake of input, by supplying the offset amount set by a tool and thus displaying the offset amount on a cathode-ray tube simultaneously with the display of the present position. CONSTITUTION:A standard tool 1 is jogged in the direction +Z with the tool 1 loaded. The contents of a Z axis present position storage means is cleared when the tool 1 touches a work surface 3. Then the tool 1 is shifted in the direction -Z by L and then stopped, and accordingly the conetents of the said storage means is set at -L. Under such conditions, the tool 1 is removed and a new tool 2 is loaded. The tool 2 touches in the direction +Z and then stopped at the moment when the tip of the tool 2 touches the surface 3. In this case, the contents of the said means is set as z0=delta since the tool 2 shifted toward Z by L+delta. This value is identical with the offset amount of the tool 2, and this amount delta is displayed on a cathode-ray tube. Thus an operator supplies delta while looking at the display of the offset amount, the accordingly, the offset amount is displayed on the screen of the cathode-ray tube simultaneously with a display of the present position.
