Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat sensitive recorder which is equipped with a protective means for preventing its thermal head from damage by reducing a voltage supplied thereto when it detects an abnormal rise of power and then cutting off the supply of power thereto. CONSTITUTION:A detection circuit 55 generates a detection signal 56 when a voltage supplied to a thermal head 51 becomes abnormal and in response to the signal a protective circuit is caused to operate and at the same time a switching circuit having a relay, etc. of which resistance is low is caused to operate to cut off the circuit. By this method, it becomes possible to prevent a thermal element from damage even if an element such as a relay of which switching beat is slow is used in a protective circuit.
