Abstract

PURPOSE: To weld can cases of different lengths on respective sides by means of jigs and improve the working efficiency of a laser welding machine by rotating both long sides of a rectangular can case, welding te same, moving the case diagonally downward, and rotating the same 90° then rotating both short sides and welding these.
CONSTITUTION: A rectangular can case 50 is mounted on a welding jig 15, and laser light 4 is focused at the welding start point 7 on the long side of the case 50. Next, the case 50 is moved in the direction of an arrow 11 by the distance of the long side length (a) of the case 50 and one side of the long sides is welded. Thence, it is rotated 180° around a central axis 5 by a rotating member 18, and is moved in the direction of an arrow 12, after which the long side on the opposite side is welded. A straight line 8 passing the central axis 5, and intersecting with the long side at 45° is moved by prescribed distance L5' in the direction of an arrow 13 by a linear member 19. Thence, it is rotated around the axis 5 in this place by a 90°rotating member 17, and one side on the short sides is welded, after which the case is rotated 180° and the opposite side of the short sides is welded.
