Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the rigidity of a large diameter high fall valve arrangement such as gate valve for use in a hydraulic power station and to reduce the diameter of a valve stem of the valve arrangement by forming a recess at one of flanges of a valve frame so that the valve may be inserted into the valve frame through the recess so as to integrate the valve body with the valve stem.
CONSTITUTION: A valve frame 1 includes a single component and has a recess 3 provided at one of connecting flanges thereof to ducts 2. A unit of a bearing metal member 3-1 and a bearing holder 4 can be mounted at the recess 3 of the valve frame 1. A valve body 5 is integrated with a valve stem 6 and can be pivoted by a driving device 7. When assembled, the bearing metal metal members 3-1 and the bearing holders 4 are mounted on the valve stems 6 on opposite ends of the valve body, and in this condition, they are fitted in the respective recesses 3 whereafter the holders 4 and the valve frame 1 are fastened together by means of bolts 8. Thereafter, the entire block is brought to a position in which the valve frame 1 is held between opposing flanges of the opposite ducts 2, and is secured thereto by means of bolts 9.
