PURPOSE:To perform accurate detection without applying load upon wheel trains by providing an alarm time detecting wheel between the minute hand and the hour hand wheel, detecting the position of the detecting wheel by means of light, and combining this with the signal of the alarm set time detected by the hour hand. CONSTITUTION:The alarm time setting hand 17 generates a contact signal with the hour hand 16, and by this signal, an alarm time detecting pulse generator 20 transmits alarm time detecting pulses to an alarm time detector 22 in synchronization with the equal time interval pulses from a frequency divider. A light emitting diode emits light by these detecting pulses, and when the light thereof passes through the hole of the alarm time detecting wheel 21 provided between the minute hand 15 and the hour hand 16, an alarm generation driving device 18 is driven to generate an alarm.
