Abstract

PURPOSE:To check the vibration of a turntable with a higher rotary accuracy by placing it on the top surface of a rotor in surface contact therewith supported floatingly with a pressure fluid being supplied between the opposed surface of the rotor and a stator. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 3 with a permanent magnet is fastened on a shaft 4 and faces a stator 2 housing a plurality of magnetic coils axially in each others' surface. A pressure fluid such as air is supplied between the opposed surfaces of the rotor 3 and stator 2 from an inlet 13 thereof to support the rotor 3 floating with a fine space. A turntable 40 is placed on the top surface of the rotor 3 so as to transmit a rotary torque through a surface contact. Thus, the turntable 40 can be supported with a broad area to prevent the transmission of the vibration thereto thereby checking the intrinsic vibration for a higher rotary accuracy.
