Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of a mirror device, in which has a back mirror body provided on an automobile door is remotely controlled from an atomobile compartment, by permitting the mirror body to be titlted to follow the tilting of a mirror housing at the time of buffering caused when an external force is applied. CONSTITUTION:A mirror body 1 and a support 2 supporting the mirror body are tiltably disposed in a mirror housing 3. The housing 3 is urged against a mounting base 4 by a coil spring 5. An operating mechanism A for operating the body 2 under remote control includes a pivotal section 61 formed in an operating section 6, an operating shaft 62, and a bracket 66 which is coupled via hinge joints 64 and 65 to the operating shaft 62 and a bracket 63 secured to the mirror body 2. The hinger joint 64 is provided nearer the base 4 that the hinger joint 65 so that the bracket 63 may be folded at the hingre joint 65 toward the base 4.
