Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the power source for a water pump by means of a simple apparatus by installing the rotary disc made of shape memorizing alloy and the shielding plates having the solar beam penetrating part and the impenetrable part arranged alternately, in the captioned apparatus utilizing the solar beam.
CONSTITUTION: The rotary disc 1 which consists of the blades 1A and 1B each of which has the rod-shaped shape memorizing alloy 4 at the center and has heat collecting plates 3 arranged on both sides of the center and the shielding plate 2 having the solar beam penetration part 2A and the nonpenetration part 2B arranged alternately are arranged. When the solar beam which penetrates the shielding plate 2 heats the alloy 4 of the blade 1B, a lever 6 revolves, having a fulcrum 7 as a center, because of the elongation of the alloy 4, and a ratchet 8 pushes the tooth of a ratchet wheel 5, and the disc 1 is revoled in the C direction. On the other hand, as for the blade 1A into which the solar beam does not penetrate, the alloy 4 is in contraction state, and the ratchet 8 does not exert any force to the ratchet wheel 5. Therefore, the disc 1 revolves continuously so far as the blades 1A and 1B are irradiated by the solar beam.
