Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit automatic travelling with a constant speed irrespective of grade and radius of curvature of travelling lane, cargos and the number of passengers by operating a fuel control with axle output.
CONSTITUTION: Rotation of a wheel 29 is transmitted through a gear 24, wire cable 26 and gear 25 mounted to an end of an axle 23 so as to drive a governor. A sleeve 22 of full speed governor controls a fuel controlling valve 31 through a lever. Also, a speed adjusting spring 18 for the full speed governor is interlocked with a solenoid 16 through a speed adjusting lever 17 so that the speed adjusting lever 17 is rotated in 4 steps by combination of energization and deenergization of the respective solenoids 16 to set the speed in 4 steps. When commanded speed is reached, centrifugal force acting on a flyweight 21 of AS governor 4 balances with a spring 18 to maintain the opening of a throttle valve constant. If load is increased by grade or the like, urging force of the speed adjusting spring 18 overcomes the centrifugal force to increase the opening of the valve 13 for increasing fuel and recovering speed.
