Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve an impact test of a test piece applying a tensile load thereon with a simple construction by means of a pulling fitting removably interposed between two sides arranged at the right angle to the surface with a cut of the test piece. CONSTITUTION:A test piece 1 with a cut 1a at the lengthwise center is supported on a support base 3 in such a manner that the side thereof facing the cut 1a constitutes the impact surface of a hammer 2. Pins 4 are provided on the test piece 1 at an equi-distance from the cut 1a between two sides thereof arranged at the right angle to the surface provided with the cut 1a piercing it 1. A pulling fitting 5 is interposed removably between the pins 4. One end of a tension spring 9 connected to a strut 10 is connected to the pulling fitting 5. In said arrangement, a connection nut 8 is turned to apply a tensile load on the test piece 1, which is mounted on a support base 3. The tension spring 9 is connected to each pulling fitting 5. Then, the test piece 1 is striken and ruptured with the hammer 2. At the same time, the pulling fitting 5 separates away between the pins 4 and recovered to the strut 10 side with the tension spring 9.
