Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit arbitrary setting of a measurement range without lowering resolving power and reduce blind zone errors and nonlinear errors by controlling the stresses of balance springs by a bias voltage generating means. CONSTITUTION:Microvoltage of a frequency lower than the natural frequency of a rotating part 1 and sufficiently higher than the speed at which the torque to be measured changes is applied to a positive pole terminal 2e and a negative pole terminal 2f, and this voltage is applied via springs 1a, 1b to a coil 1c. The magnetic field of permanent magnets 2h, 2i passes the coil 1c, and the coil 1c finely vibrates. When the torque to be measured is applied from an object 3 to be measured to the rotating part 1, a pointer 1f stops at the point where the rotating torque and the torque produced by the deformation of the springs 1a, 1b balance. The high frequency voltage which is to be applied to the coil 1c and to which DC bias is added is applied and the torque in a backward direction is beforehand applied to the coil 1c, whereby the measurement range is expanded.
