Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any leakage of electrolyte, enable a homogeneous reaction to be maintained, and increase the performance as well as the life of a mtal-hologen battery by using a separator frame with a given structure, and unifying the frame and a separator. CONSTITUTION:A separator 7 is interposed between the electrode parts of a positive and a negative electrode to make a unit. A metal-halogen battery is constituted by stacking a plural number of thus prepared units in layers. The separator 7 and a supporting frame 8 which is divided into two pars, are unified with a plastic. In making the separator 7 and the former two parts to be stuck together, a packing is interposed between the joined surfaces of these two parts. The upper side and the lower side of the frame 8 are provided with anolyte circulation paths 31-34 and catholyte circulation paths 41-44. A protruding wall 80 is provided over the periphery of the separator 7. Both the upper and the lower sides of the wall 80 are provided with a plural number of cuts 81 serving for supplying electrolyte.
