Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the concentration of H2 and CO in gas, by a method wherein the opening part between the discharge port of waste gas from a smelting furnace and a waste gas-recovering apparatus, is sealed with steam, and carbon compounds are added to the discharge port or the recovering apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: A gas 13 (hereinafter referred to as LDG) generated in a converter 12 and sealing steam 13 are blown into an LNG-recovering apparatus 14. Then steam and steam drain 22 are separated in a steam-removing stage 16. Gas is transferred to a reservoir 20 by means of a blower and consumed as LDG21. On the other hand, carbon compds. 24 are blown into the recovering apparatus 14 and/or the converter 12, and gasified. O2 gas is blown into the converter 12 through 25. In this way, the opening part between the furnace port of the converter 12 and the LDG-recovering apparatus 14 is sealed with steam, and at the same time the carbon compds. are gasified by the waste heat of the converter, whereby LDG is modified and supplied to the reservoir 20 as a high-quality fuel gas.
