Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate an error in operation through automating a change in manual numbering position, by printing a specific character corresponding to an unreadable character on a character read sheet, through a numbering controller. CONSTITUTION:When an indication signal, which indicates the existance of a character unreadable by a device OCR among characters entered in a character read OCR sheet 1, is transferred to a printing timing generator 9, the device 9 counts clock pulses generated by a sheet position detecting mechanism 8. Then, the device 9 prints a specific number at a numbering position P1 corresponding to the unreadable character, through a numbering controller 6. A signal transferred from a read head 2 is discriminated by a character reader 5 and when the character is recognized, another specific signal is not further printed at the position P1. Thus, a change in numbering position which is usually executed by an operater manually is automated to eliminate an error in operation.
